Questions before you pick a box

What games does Hasbro own?

Our closet includes Monopoly, Clue, The Game of Life, Candy Land, Connect 4, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Risk, Battleship, Operation, Twister, Jenga, Taboo, Yahtzee and Bop It!, along with the Avalon Hill strategy line with HeroQuest and Betrayal at House on the Hill. You can see every current box on the all games page.

What are the most popular Hasbro games?

Monopoly is the best known, followed closely by Clue, Connect 4, Jenga, The Game of Life and Candy Land. Among smaller boxes, Monopoly Deal is one of the most-reviewed games we make. The top-10 countdown on our home page ranks the current favorites by number of buyer ratings.

What are some classic Hasbro games?

The long-running classics include Monopoly (1935), Scrabble (1948), Candy Land and Clue (1949), The Game of Life (1960), Operation (1965), Twister (1966) and Connect 4 (1974). Most of them sit on our family classics and preschool shelves, with Monopoly and Clue on shelves of their own.

What is the best Hasbro board game?

It depends on who is playing. For a family with kids 8 and up, classic Monopoly or The Game of Life is hard to beat; for two players, Connect 4 or Battleship; for a group of adults, Taboo or Trivial Pursuit. Our guide to picking a board game by age narrows it down.

What are the best games for family game night?

Choose games that the youngest player can handle and the oldest will not be bored by. Sorry!, Trouble, Connect 4 and Guess Who? work from age 6, and Monopoly, Clue and The Game of Life from age 8. A quick card game such as Monopoly Deal is a good opener. Start on the family classics shelf.

What are the top party games?

Jenga and Twister are the easiest to start, since nobody needs the rules explained. For team play, Taboo, Scattergories and Catch Phrase are the standards. For adults only, look at Truth or Drink, Priorities and Taboo Uncensored. See the party shelf or our guide to a grown-up game night.

Where can I buy Hasbro games from this site?

We do not run a checkout here. Every game has a button that opens its listing at our retail partner, where you place the order, pay and arrange delivery. Prices and stock are set by the retailer and can change, so the listing always has the current figure.

Hasbro board games for every table

Classic board games that started here

Hasbro board games have been part of American homes for generations. Monopoly has been trading properties since 1935, Scrabble has been spelling since 1948, and Candy Land and Clue both arrived in 1949. The Game of Life followed in 1960, Operation in 1965, Twister in 1966 and Connect 4 in 1974. These classic board games stay in print because they are easy to teach and different every time. Our closet holds the current edition of each one, along with themed versions for fans of Pokémon, Harry Potter, Bluey, Super Mario and more.

Family game night, sorted

A good family game night starts with a game everyone at the table can actually play. For mixed ages, the family board games on our classics shelf are the safe choice: Connect 4, Sorry!, Trouble and Guess Who? all start at age 6, and The Game of Life and Monopoly at age 8. Add a quick card game such as Monopoly Deal or 5 Alive for the warm-up, and keep Jenga nearby for the finale. Every game here shows its age grade and player count, so you can match the box to the people before you buy.

Kids games from age 3

Kids games work best when the rules fit the child. Our preschool games need no reading: Candy Land teaches colors and turn-taking, Chutes and Ladders teaches counting, and Hungry Hungry Hippos teaches nothing at all except how to laugh. From age 5, Monopoly Junior, Clue Junior and Scrabble Junior introduce the big names in a shorter, simpler form. From age 6, Operation and Mouse Trap add steady hands and a little suspense. Many board games for kids contain small parts and are not for children under 3.

Party games for adults and teens

When friends come over, party games for adults do the hosting for you. Taboo, Scattergories and Catch Phrase split the room into teams and get loud fast. Jenga and Twister need no explanation. For an adults-only night, card games such as Truth or Drink, Priorities and SERVD keep the conversation moving, and Taboo Uncensored turns the classic up a notch. Trivia fans can settle things with Trivial Pursuit. Most of these games set up in under two minutes, which matters when the snacks are already out.

Card games, strategy games and everything between

Not every game needs a board. Our card games and dice games — Yahtzee, Rook, Rummikub, Monopoly Deal — fit in a drawer and travel well. At the other end of the closet, strategy board games ask for a full evening: Risk, Battleship, and the Avalon Hill line with HeroQuest, Talisman and Betrayal at House on the Hill. Electronic games such as Bop It! and Simon cover solo play. With 312 games across 11 shelves, there is a box for two players, for six, for ten minutes or for all night.
