Stickers go onto the map for good, some cards leave the game forever, and winning multiple games unlocks sealed components with new rules. A choice made in game one can come back to bite you in game ten, and old betrayals are remembered by the board itself.
Bring three to five players ages 13 and up, ideally the same group each time, since the world you shape belongs to your table alone. A session takes about an hour, which makes it a strong candidate for a standing weekly game night.
Fantastic version of risk for a group of 4-5 regular players. I played through once with my two teenage sons and bought a second copy to play through a second time with more players. The use of various objectives and victory points keeps it from becoming too long and the legacy mechanics keep each game fresh and dynamic. If you have a regular player group it’s a good bet. Might be less enjoyable if played infrequently and with different players.
