Designed for ages five and up, it teaches the basics of claiming and defending territory without the long playing time of the grown-up game. Bring it out for two to four kids who are ready for something with a little more strategy.
I would recommend as a great game for parents to play with their kids. Got this for my 4 year old for Christmas. He loves it. The game play is fun and takes about 5 or 10 minutes to complete. The pieces that shoot the dice are fun too, although we usually opt to just roll the dice. We like the fact that the outcome is still unknown until the very end when you count up your treasure, and my child gets to work on his counting skills here.
I bought Risk Junior for my six year old nephew. He picked the rules pretty quickly and had a great time playing it. Risk Junior has a cool pirate theme, it's easy for young kids to learn how to play and gives the Playstation 5 a break! I recommend it.
This game has stood the test of time, we still play it many months after the original purchase. It’s fast paced enough to keep attention, simple enough for elementary age kids to easily pick up on the directions, and engaging enough to play again and again.
