How it plays

Slide your coffin-shaped mover from room to room on the roll of the dice. Inside a location, suggest a kidnapper, an object and a hiding place, and watch which cards your rivals reveal to disprove you. Intrigue cards shake things up along the way. Narrow it down, name all three correctly and you've rescued the holiday.

We love this one in the stretch between Halloween and Christmas, though fans will happily play it year-round. It's suited to two to six detectives aged eight and up and runs an hour or so, long enough to hum the whole soundtrack.
