How it plays
Players take turns flipping cards off the draw pile onto the table. Gems, gold nuggets, and diamonds pile up, and the trick is deciding when to slap and claim them. Wait for a richer haul and you risk everything: when the fourth stick of dynamite appears, the mine blows and every unclaimed treasure is swept away.
Once the deck runs out, the most valuable stash wins. Designed by Ken Gruhl and Quentin Weir, it takes about 20 minutes and suits two to five players ages 8 and up. The rules are simple enough for kids, and the greed-versus-nerve decisions keep older players hooked.
