Dragons sit where the properties would be. Land on one, pay fish for a lesson, and you learn about that species; later you roll the training die for a chance to train it and earn its shield. Viking challenges in the Arena test your skills along the way. Collect eight different shields — or be the last Viking with fish — to win.
Play as Hiccup, Astrid, Tuffnut, or Ruffnut, each with a unique ability on a matching mat. It seats two to four players ages 8 and up, which makes it a good fit for family night with young fans of the films.
My kids love How to Train your Dragon and they have so much fun playing this game!
Good game, added a rule. We did not like that the 'Free Parking' space wasn't used, so we made a house rule. If you want to role again for a shield, then the fish fee goes to the free parking space. If you land on the space you get all the fish. Makes you think more about putting your fish up for grabs. If a player owns the dragon space, you pay the player to roll again for the shield.
A must have for any younger HTTYD fans and their family. Not nearly as long as a standard monopoly game too so that's a plus.
